Do I really need to detox?

The truth is: yes, you probably do need to detox. Especially if you haven’t ever done one. No need to be scared by the word ‘detox’. All that means is that you’re getting rid of (dumping, throwing away, eliminating, chuckin’, haulin’ out, shall I go on?) toxins in your body that come in from food + drinks, the air we breathe and junk that may be in personal care products we use daily. There’s no way to avoid them totally, so don’t beat yourself up.

What’s the difference between this detox and other ones?

There are a ton of them all claiming the same thing > lose weight, feel great, get healthy, this is the best detox available, yadda yadda…

The most important thing is the emphasis on overall health – losing weight is a bonus. I know most people think “when I lose weight I’ll be healthy.” But that’s actually not true. The truth is when people get healthy, then they lose weight. If the program that you’re on right now has an emphasis on losing a lot of weight fast or the only benefit to the program is losing weight then run away. Run far far away. You may lose weight fast, but if you stop using that program you’ll gain the weight right back. Again, no Bueno.

This Clean Eating program is focused on detoxing + getting your body back to “zero”, basically. Like, a fresh start – we all love a fresh start and so do our bodies.

  • Side note: The first thing I do when someone asks me about a specific company’s program is look at the type of protein they’re using in their shake. Whey + soy = bad, no Bueno! Then I look at the type of sugar they use + the caffeine source of their “energy replacement”. If it’s not pure sugar cane or stevia then it gets a big fat X.

But what if I stop this program? Won’t I gain the weight back?

If you do the 28 days of clean eating and then on day 29 you’re right back to your old eating habits then yes, you’ll most likely eventually gain the weight back – but not overnight. Along with that weight gain will also come the symptoms you were trying to eliminate in the first place.

This isn’t a ‘get skinny quick scheme’. It’s a ‘make new lifestyle habits so you can be healthy and live longer’ program. And trust me when I tell you this: you won’t want to go back to your old habits because you’re going to be feeling a.w.e.s.o.m.e. Jus’ sayin’.

If you’ve detoxed before but never with pure clean eating or it’s been over a year, then 60 days is the recommended amount of time. If you’re completely freaked out by the thought of going longer than 28 days, then just stick to the 28 days, friend. No stressing necessary. This is a journey, not a race.
