we were on our way to Las Vegas for the 2015 Arbonne Global Training Conference. we were in Chicago Midway airport when I realized I had no Fizz sticks in my carry on, and because I was running on about 3 hours of sleep with an entire day ahead of me, this realization was like stubbing my toe.
my sister-in-law, who was traveling with me, said “I wonder if there are other Arbonne people here?”
Lightbulb! YES! there have got to be other Arbonne people – specifically ones who were planning ahead & put a fizz stick or two in their purse. I was on a new mission to hunt them down… and then I had a new realization: I have no water to put the fizz stick into. :-/
one of the greatest things I’ve learned in Arbonne is to be ready and be prepared for good things to happen. that’s not just from leadership training, I’ve learned. I’ve read it in many places in the Bible as well. this is one of my favorite verses because it translates many different ways.
“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” 2 Corinthians 9:6
sitting around moping that i didn’t have fizz sticks or water would’ve kept me ‘unfizzed’. thankfully, airports have many places where you can buy water from. I said to my SIL “I’m going to get a bottle of water, so that when I find someone with a fizzie I’ll be prepared.” She agreed that was a swell idea.
Less than 5 minutes later on our way back to our terminal, we spotted a group of lovely Arbonne consultants and chatted them up. I asked if anyone has a spare fizz and a few of them did. They refused to let us pay them, as is the Arbonne way. I was so grateful for their kindness and for God answering my Fizz Stick prayer! I put my faith into Him and He answered me not only with one fizz stick, but two – one for me, and one for my SIL. Plus, an opportunity to thank Him.
in this case, i ‘sowed’ a bottled of water and ‘reaped’ the benefits of an energy fizz stick. i sowed bountifully and so therefore i reaped bountifully. yes, it was just water with some fizzie (some might not think very bountiful) but to me it meant a lot in that moment because i was running on fumes. i needed to fuel up! not everything bountiful has to be BIG and GRAND…. it truly is the small things in life that mean the most.
this concept of expecting things to happen that you desire to happen is brand spankin’ new for me, but it makes complete sense. be prepared to succeed. be prepared for greatness. be prepared to receive love and kindness. be prepared and expect that things will work out just the way you want them to.
be prepared for your fizz.
